Ablue Moon’s Bed of Roses
2019 Australian Arabian National Championships
Our beautiful Prim stepped out at the 2019 Aussies; making her debut in her new registry (Half Arabian), competing at her first show since the 2015 Aussies, and appearing for only the second time as a senior mare. In a very competitive class, she was capably shown by Mitchell Taff for a Top Five placing (4th on points). While she missed the Bronze Championship by one point, she received the top class score for legs and feet, and it was very pleasing to see two of the judges had her as Bronze Champion on points.
Prepared at home, and shown by Mitch Taff, we were very happy with Prim’s results. She has never been wholly convinced about the ‘show horse’ business, and would much prefer to stand around being cuddled. Not the best drinker (even at home), she gets quite tucked up and, after a wash bay incident that saw her skin her hock, we weren’t even sure she’d be sound on Saturday morning. Needless to say, she was!
Sincerest thanks to Sharyn and Rob of Lendene Stud, who very kindly transported Prim to the show on our behalf, and took wonderful care of her for us whenever we were unable to remain on the grounds. Prim has now been turned out, and is already enjoying retirement!

2015 Australian National Arabian Championships
The glorious young mare Ablue Moon’s Bed of Roses, first foal of Ablue Moon Rising, made her senior debut at the Aussies and certainly didn’t disappoint! Showing for the first time since she was a yearling, Prim was shown by her favourite human (Dee) in the large and very competitive Arabian Pony mare class. Called in to the finals alongside her stablemate Peaches n Cream, Prim was awarded:

Magic Breed Foal & Youngstock Show
‘Primlet’ returned to Werribee to contest her classes at the Magic Breed Show, where she was awarded Grand Champion as a weanling. Dual Registered classes were only conducted in one ring, whereas Arabian classes were run in both. From her four classes, our special girl was awarded:

Our beautiful ‘Prim’ attended the PetStock show and achieved good results, winning all her classes. At approximately 14hh, she is a conspicuously large and rather gangly Arabian Pony! In spite of her size and the ‘awkward’ stage of her growth, she is exquisitely beautiful, and was awarded:

We attended our second and final foal show with our beautiful Prim. Once again, she looked lovely and behaved perfectly. We only ended up competing in three classes, as we missed one and scratched from the other. She was showing signs of being very tired. From only three classes, she was awarded:

What an exciting debut for our gorgeous ‘Prim’ at the Magic Breed foal show. It was a very special day for us, as she is the first horse we have bred, owned and exhibited. She is also the first foal of her gorgeous sire Ablue Moon Rising, who has never been shown himself due to scarring. Prim was beautifully behaved and showed very well to achieve the following outstanding results:
